rainbow orphanage
A volunteer location has been confirmed as the inspiration trip for the Humanity Fragrance Second Edition. In late March, I'll be traveling to the Siem Reap area of Cambodia with my husband José, his sister Karina, my sister Katie, friend and photographer Harry, and friends Meili and Dave to volunteer at the Rainbow Orphanage. We'll be putting our hearts into it, and I hope to come out the other side with a rich experience with which to make our next fragrance.
Founded and staffed entirely by locals, the Rainbow Orphanage cares for thirty-six children, while providing English classes to an additional 250 in neighboring schools. They are working towards a model of sustainability by implementing various farming and husbandry techniques. Our group will be helping out with all of these things. We've planned an additional week or so to travel around the country. It's been a dream of mine to see Angkor Wat, and the time has come!
In researching the ideal volunteer location for our group, I cam across many other organizations that are also doing wonderful things to help their communities. I'd like to take a moment here to recognize them: Sunrise Children's Villages New Hope for Cambodian Children Mango Tree Garden Sareka Cambodian Children's Arts.
