This is my last set of photos from our trip to Maui in January (see parts 1 + 2). Perhaps one of the most vexing things about Hawaii is the grand scale of the world. I'm used to being in Brooklyn, looking out my small rectangular living room windows onto a brick building across the street. From my roof I can see the sky, yes, but between buildings and clothing lines and fire escapes. The lady in the photos is my best gal friend MeiLi. She's as adventurous as they come and together we explored hidden waterfalls, dark caves, and secret beaches.
