Our sweet friend + ceramicist Helen Levi was asked by Vogue recently what her ideal hostess gift would be and she said our Desert Rose Atmosphere Mist. Check out the full piece here to see what other chic women like Padmi Laksmi and photographer Alice Gao are hoping for.
Helen is the co-founder and Creative Director of Fuzzco, the Charleston-based design agency behind many an awesome branding project (think Mailchimp, Bonobos, and Etsy). You'd never guess how hard this lady works being as that she's so nice, humble and chill! We met on vacation in upstate New York and reunited when she asked us to make a pair of signature fragrances: E.d'E. Black and E.d'E. Blue.
Caitlin is the designer behind MOCIUN, a jewelry line based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Her custom diamond cluster rings are coveted by brides-to-be everywhere. Her creativity knows no bounds from clothing, to store design, and she has a great curatorial eye for small items like ceramics and knives, which she also carries in her flagship store. We've collaborated on two fragrances so far, and the process of unraveling what another designer has in their olfactive imagination has been rewarding for me too.

When did you start wearing perfume? What fragrance was it?: I started when I was young but the first one I really started wearing the repeat bought was an Issey Miyake perfume called Le Feu D'Issey.
If you were a plant, what would you be?: A bitter orange tree.
What's in your refrigerator right now?: Not much, I'm on a trip to Italy.
Three words that describe you: Passionate, intense, silly
We are so lucky to work alongside such talented and smart women everyday at the Dobbin Mews, our shared studio space. It's hard to get everyone in one photo, but here's our best try. From left: RJ, Katie (me!), Helen, Nicolette, Fay, Julie, and Jennifer. Still missing Stephanie, Minh, Erica, Tara, and Emily.
The other day I received an email with the subject line "Happy New Year from a MAINE fan." A friend of a friend, Sarah Krasley told me about the very important role our MAINE candle plays in her New Year's ritual.
Every New Year's Day, amidst the pieces of confetti on the floor that came home with me from the festivities of the night before, I buy a bunch of the whitest tulips I can find, play that song from Graceland that goes "Somebody say 'hello, hello, hello'" and pull out a pristine white paper canister that holds MAINE. The clary sage in the fragrance mix clears out any lingering juju from the year before and overall it is just a perfect, clean scent for a fresh start. The scent has a teeny sharpness to it, like the cold air piercing the winter sky all wrapped up in flowery kindness, the well-needed reminder of what will come in a few months...Spring.
RJ moved into the studio space across the way from us a year and a half ago and life has not been the same since! She is wildly funny, stylish, and a caring mama with lots of advice to dispense. She transformed her studio into a ceramics haven, with hot kilns and clay everywhere, and now I'm lucky enough to own a few pieces of her amazing jewelry holders. RJ also introduced me to Brazilian cheese bread and for that move alone, she wins.

When did you first start wearing perfume? What fragrance was it?: Oh man, that's hard. The furthest I can go back in memory lane is the time I was crazy about Colors by Benetton.
If you were a plant, what would you be?: A rose
What's in your refrigerator right now?: Lots of Coca Cola and baby yogurt
Three words that describe you: Simple, intense, gullible
A couple of years ago my beautiful friend Jenny Gordy moved to Iowa, making all of us here in Brooklyn who knew her so sad. She's quirky and witty, as well as talented and kind. Today she shares her beauty routine and tips on Cup of Jo and it makes me smile to think of her far away but wearing NOBLE on dates, and borrowing her husband's sweaters for the hint of Dude No.1 Beard Oil.
See her full Beauty Uniform here.
Cara is one of the few friends I have who is a New York City native - a Queens girl to be exact. We met through mutual friends and became close two summers ago when we decided that we would spend one day every single weekend of the summer on the beach at Fort Tilden. A dancer by training, I always look forward to her performances (yes, I might secretly want to be a dancer).

Favorite MCMC fragrance: I heart PHOENIX!
When did you first start wearing perfume? What fragrance was it?: When I was young, I used to pull all of the perfume sample pages out of fashion magazines, smell them one by one and pick my favorite just for fun. I started wearing perfume when I got a Christmas present of four perfumes in one carrying case: vanilla, lemon, jasmine and I can't remember the fourth one but its cap was blue. The first I ever bought myself as a teen was Sunflower by Elizabeth Arden.
If you were a plant, what would you be?: A morning glory.
What’s in your refrigerator right now?: A lot. Leafy greens, sprouts, dark chocolate, butter, mushrooms, corn, miso , and hummus to name a few.
Three words that describe you: Discerning, compassionate, enthusiastic
